THE EVENT
Redmond Lights is a focal point of the urban winter time experience for the city Redmond celebrating all things winter, community, and light art.
In 2018 Sensebellum was invited to provide a highly engaging activation featuring interactive light based art. Naturally, The Sandbox of Life was a chosen as a sure fire hit for all ages.
THE EXPERIENCE
Positioned on the main thoroughfare and housed in an all-weather tent the activation was a glowing beacon of awesome visible from across the entire park.
Parents, equally in awe, provided parables to the installation’s nature while the kids dove in and had to eventually be pulled away.
This is always a good sign as the replay value and infinite creative possibilities within the Sandbox are vast and universally enjoyable.
Each of the three Sandbox installations showcased a unique mode of interaction. On deck was the classic laser mode where a green laser sparked the visuals to life. Another was a rainbow take on “Conway’s Game of Life”, and the third was a full blown 3D version sporting colorful topography.
Each was custom fabricated and programmed at our studio to ensure the artistic vision and overall experience was to the highest level possible.
